Operation Zarb-e-Azb in the tribal region nears to its completion of one year since it started against the militants on June 15, 2014.
The military has initiated ground operations in Shawal valley of North Waziristan to clear the region from militants.
The Army troops in recent fighting with the militants have killed more than 25 armed anti-state fighters, security sources said.
The dead bodies of the militants have been taken in possession of the forces, which have continued advancement in Shawal valley, sources added.
Pakistan Armed Forces last year in June launched the military offensive in North Waziristan bordering Afghanistan in the wake of the 8 June attack on Jinnah International Airport in Karachi, for which the TTP and the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan (IMU) claimed responsibility. The attack was resulted in failure of the government’s dialogue with Taliban militants. The operation launched on June 15 is meant to flush out all foreign and local militants hiding in North Waziristan region, deemed as the hotbed of militancy in Pakistan.
