The suspects, including one who hailed from Astore valley in Gilgit-Baltistan, have been shifted to an undisclosed location for further interrogation.
The operation was led by Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Imran Khokhar, who said that the operation was conducted to main law and order in the upcoming month of Muharam, and over the possibility of any terrorist activities.
Therefore, they have urged the administration of various seminaries to close down till 15th Muharam. He said that the proscribed Ahle-Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) has agreed to close all seminaries till mid-Muharram.
He requested religious parties to cooperate as it is the national obligation, and that no one is above the law, and strict action will be taken against any violators.
