150 KV Micro Hydro Power House inaugurated in Chitral

General Officer Commanding (GOC)  Pakistan Army Malakand 17 Division Major General Asif Ghaffor was chief guest on the occasion who inaugurated newly completed hydro power house.

Addressing to the inaugural function District Program Manager  of SRSP Tariq Ahmad said that they were working on power generation in Chitral and at present some  25 hydro power houses were near completion in different remote valleys of Chitral where there is no electricity.

He said that this power house having capacity of 150 KV its beneficiaries are 384 (consumers) with total cost of some Rs 29 million.

“It has 2 water tankers with 2800 feet long  water channel and this power house will bring revolution in development of the valley.  Cross flow Turbine installed in this power house which can work on a less balance  and less power capacity,” he added.

Addressing to the function, Maj Gen Asif Ghaffor highly hailed efforts of SRSP who providing electricity in remote areas of Malakand Division. He announced of construction of a belly bridge on nullah (river) in the area which causing for suspension of traffic. He also assured for establishment of handicraft center for women.

Commandant Chitral Scouts Col Nizamuddin Shah was, Assistant Commissioner Mastuj Abdul Hameed Khattak, AAC Muhammad Saleh civil and military officers and Nazims, councilors, including women folk of the area were also present on the occasion.
