14 Missing Persons to be produced in SC today

ISLAMABAD: Fourteen missing persons will be produced today in Supreme Court for in-camera hearing, ARY News reported on Saturday. 

The relatives of the missing persons have been directed to remain present in the court.

Acting Secretary Defence Maj. General Arif Hassan has reached the court.

The missing persons will be produced before Justice Amir Hani Muslim.

Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry yesterday in an interim order directed the government to produce 14 missing persons for the closed door hearing of the case on Saturday.

Earlier, the court expressed its dissatisfaction over a report submitted by Minister for Defence Khwaja Asif in which details of missing persons were given.

According to the report submitted by the government seven persons were released, another two had died and only two persons were held up in detention centres, whereas out of the remaining, three were present in Waziristan region, another went to Saudi Arabia and eight crossed the border into Afghanistan.

According to report, the whereabouts of seven persons were unknown.

The bench adjourned the hearing of missing persons case till December 09.
